Peddle power. With the state of the streets in New Rome (not to mention Old Rome, the quickest way to get about is by bike. Affords little protection from angry pedestrians though.

Bus Ride

Going somewhere in NRC ?, take the bus. Jump on, pay the fare, get off again. Fine as long as you aren’t going too far and don’t want to sit down. Slow too, you’ve seen rush hour traffic, right ?

Motorcycle, Generic

Economical, practical transport whilst still retaining your self respect. 500cc engine with a top speed of around 130mph.

Motor Scooter, Generic

125cc engine in a variety of hideous colour schemes. Much favoured by teenagers and commuters.

Car, Generic Four-Wheel Drive

Basic sports-utility vehicle that could be used off road at a push. Little resemblence to it’s far superior ancestor, the Jeep.

Tiny, two seater car with a top speed of 75mph. The very basis of automobile technology, yet sold worldwide by the million.

The ubiquitous family saloon. Versions made by at least a dozen different manufacturers that all look identical. Visit a mall in the suburbs of any major city anywhere in the world, and the parking lot will be full of these.

For the corp who wants to be different, but not too different. This is exactly the same as the SaloonCar^TM but in a two-door coupe version with more plastic bodywork and sports graphics.

Supplementing the dwindling fossil fuel supply, most vehicles use synthesised petroleum derived from a combination of fossil petrol and vegetable oil extracts. Available at all service stations. Priced per litre.

Limousine Rental (Including Driver)

Arrive in style, show up your ex-wife’s new boyfriend or just impress the ladies. Look like a millionaire or rockstar in a hired limo.

Parking Fine

Parked outside city hall or next to a fire hydrant ?, naughty boy. Pay the fine or they impound your car.

CCTV cameras and armed security guards. Not infallible, but reasonably priced and with a fair chance of your car still being there when you get back.

Public multi storey above- or below-ground parking lot. No cameras, no security staff, just a machine to give you a ticket and take your money when you leave. If you don’t like you car, leave it here.

Taxi, Aerocab

Take a cab and skip the traffic. AV cabs get you there much quicker.

A standard cab, but with armour plating and bullet resistant windows. The drivers are usually better drivers and have guns too !.

Dirty, smelly and underground – but on the plus side, it is cheap. You have no idea who or what is living in those tunnels, and the crime rate is approximately double that on the surface trains. Take your chances.

From Central NRC Station out to all of Italy. The alternative is domestic chartered air flights, and you can’t afford to fly.
