I had a really tame robin here last winter, whom I named Bouncer. He (or could be she I suppose) is the only wild bird ever that I have got to take a seed from my hand, and I became very fond of him. He would come when I called to his special feeding place on the hanging bird table up near my aviary. Then about April this year, he disappeared for the entire summer and I was convinced he had been killed. Then I was thrilled to bits a while ago because he came back! At first, he was being chased off by another one which had taken over his territory, but now thankfully, he seems to have regained control, and is coming for his sunflower hearts and suet pellets again, just like before.
I now have another tamish one though, which comes to the back door feeders (the new one I bought yesterday) He is waiting in the hollybush and will come instantly I throw some seeds down too, not quite as near as Bouncer though. Tonight as dusk was approaching I put some more robin mix on the feeding tray on the new pole, and then went back in to get some sunflower hearts to add a bit more, and nearly put my hand on him! So cute. I think this may be one of this year's youngsters, there were a couple round here when they were all spotty and I kept talking to them. I think robins are my favourite of the garden birds, of course there are others which are more colourful or acrobatic or entertaining, but these are such little characters.

This is the only picture I have of Bouncer, not all that close, but the one day I decided to take a camera up with me to capture a photo, he got all camera shy.
